Berkshire chapter North American Rock Garden Society
About our chapter...
We are a friendly group of enthusiastic gardeners interested in rock garden or alpine plants, woodland plants and dwarf shrubs and trees. We meet monthly from March through November to hear slide lectures, see demonstrations and visit private gardens. See the Program link for details. Guests are very welcome. We are sponsoring the Eastern United States Winter Study Weekend in March 2008. For details click here.
Our regular meeting place is at the Berkshire Botanical Gardens in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Meetings are generally held on the first Saturday of the month, with morning and afternoon presentations. People gather for coffee around 10; the meeting starts at 10:30; there is a break for a "bring your own" lunch and a further session in the afternoon. [Check the program: occasionally we move to the second Saturday or to other venues because of conflicting events at BBG.]
A feature of each meeting is the sale of plants grown by members, the largest sale of the season being in September. Often visiting speakers will also bring plants for sale. This presents an opportunity to buy unusual plants otherwise only available from specialist nurseries.
"Show and tell" features interesting plants, new tools or other garden-related items, news of plant sales and garden tours and the opportunity to seek answers to garden-related questions. We require membership in the North American Rock Garden Society.
We would be delighted to see you at a meeting. Feel free to contact us for more information.
